Anne Marie's role in this project was very diverse. When she came to the project it was a double-sided, 8-1/2" x 11" white piece of paper, in a tiny font and almost no margins. Most of the research had already been completed by some wonderful volunteers, but it was in need of serious editing to make it more concise and easy to comprehend. Also, Anne Marie annotated the packet after researching all the sources to confirm the quotes and factual claims. Legitimacy of the sources was key because the main purpose of the packet was to provide trail and bikeway advocates with documented information to dispel myths held by the general public about trails. It also provided valuable information about resources available to trail advocates and the general public. Once the content was well establish, Anne Marie partnered with a graphic designer at a partnering organization (the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference) to determine the layout. Finally, Anne Marie secured funding to print and distribute the packet. Below are two images to help you get an idea of the project's impressive layout (click on these images to see them at a larger scale). The project is enclosed within a two-pocket folder with a colorful cover (shown to the left below). When you open the folder there are various trail advocacy brochures and resource lists in the left pocket, and in the right pocket are a set of cascading fact sheets (shown to the right below).
There are seven fact sheets, each cut to a different height so the titles of all are visible at a glance. Each sheet is annotated with footnotes shown on its back. Here are links to the text of each fact sheet from top to bottom:
