• Environmental Education Program Coordinator in the Division of Educational Programs at Argonne National Laboratory, a federal government research facility operated by the University of Chicago. (January 1992 - October 1994)
• Served as an annual reviewer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Education Grant Program. (2000 - 2002)
• Private consultant for the Illinois State Board of Education's Environmental Literacy for Illinois initiative. (May 1995)
• Served as a regional representative in the Conservation Congress of the State of Illinois. (1996 - 1997)
• Appointed by the Mayor to the Environmental Concerns Committee for the City of Darien as they developed a trail and bikeway plan for the community. (February 1997 - July 1998)
